Stand out performances by Kingsley, McShane and Winstone. Mcshane certainly sheds his Lovejoy persona deftly. With these performances who needs a story. Ostensibly a 'heist' film Beast transcends the genre relegating the caper to the back burner. For those that cannot make out the dialogue two words - 'close captioning'. I am hard of hearing and use this feature with all videos, dvds or sat. broadcasts regardless of language or dialect. Some theater releases now use subtitles in UK films. Also an excellent way to decipher the lyrics of film songs which are otherwise completely missed.
